Charmy's Army in HALLOWED WEENIES - Strip 2 of 6

It's not easy being green.

Charmy was a real trooper for this episode. The makeup application started at 4:00am and took a grand total of 7 hours to apply. We finished up  in time for lunch and poor Charmy was forced to drink a smoothie for lunch. Charmy hates smoothies.

Enjoy today's strip, Like and Share on Facebook.

Charmy's Army in HALLOWED WEENIES - Strip 1 of 6

Charmy sets off on a huge adventure this week!!!... TRICK OR TREATING!!!!!

In celebration of my second favorite holiday, I have worked up now the normal 3 strips, but SIX awesome strips this week for my loyal readers... both of you.

These six strips is actually the beginning of something bigger. I want to expand these six strips into a graphic novel. I now have a total of 4 graphic novels I would like to create. In order to do this, I am going to enlist some help soon. I'll need a good artist to help me. Once I get one of these novels written, I plan on doing a huge search. More news when I sort out my plans.

Enjoy this week's holiday offerings!!!!

Charmy's Army in "The Big GANG Theory" Strip 1

I believe this week's episode will be one of Charmy's most memorable. It has everything readers want. Humor at its best, classic America biker gangs, and Frenchy in a tight leather jacket.

Charmy's Army in "Long Overdue" Strip 6

It has been a whole week since I emailed by submission to The Washington Post Writer's Group. I don't expect to ever hear back of course. I've sent so many submissions over the years and no syndicate ever responds. Honestly, I would just love one of the form letters I hear about from other cartoonists. I refuse to believe my strip is so back that the syndicates won't waste their time with a form letter.

My goal for October is to have submissions out to each of the major syndicates. If once again, I do not hear back from at least one syndicate by February of next year, I am going to begin working on one of three other strips I have in my brain. I hate to think Charmy, Weaver and Frenchy would be shelved, but after five years I may have no other choice.

How can you save Charmy's Army? You can follow me everywhere I am marketing my strip...

PATREON - This site even allows readers to pledge a monthly monetary amount to my strip. These pledges help me buy all my supplies and pay my fees which run about $100 per month.... yes, per month. Stripping is expensive.

TAPASTIC - This is another site that allows readers to pledge a monthly amount to cartoonists. Unfortunately, you must have over 600 followers to be considered for funding. I have 27 so I have a long way to go before I am promoted to receive funding from pledges.

GO COMICS - This site is also a syndicate!!! I pay $100 a year to be on this site. They do not even know I am here. I have 42 followers and I get around 5 or 6 looks each day. Those are terrible stats. I really could use readers to create an account here (free), add me to their collections, and leave me daily comments. This would show Go Comics that I have a great strip that people want to read. This site is part of the syndicate Universal UClick. Being picked up would mean possibly getting into a newspaper or two... or twenty...

FACEBOOK - My only success story. Liking my page here will get you in with my biggest gathering of readers. Working on reaching 1,000 active readers!!!

Follow me here, there and EVERYWHERE!!!

Charmy's Army in "Long Overdue" Strip 5

I guess I'm getting old. I love my all-news radio station here in Houston. I'd rather listen to that station than the watered-down classic rock channel at the end of my radio dial. Do they still make radios with "dials"? Again, showing my age.

Our classic rock station plays the same old "safe" songs over and over again. If you hear the station playing Led Zeppelin, you can bet it will be either "Stairway to Heaven" or "Rock n Roll". If you hear Pink Floyd, you'll hear either "Wish You Were Here" or "Another Brick in the Wall. You won't hear any early, solo McCartney... or Cheap Trick... or Rainbow...

If I could just take the steering wheel one time at that station You'd hear Pink Floyd performing "Wots, uh... the Deal", Led Zeppelin doing "Candy Store Rock", Cheap Trick belching out "He's a Whore" and some Rainbow with Dio singing "Man on the Silver Mountain".

So it is lunch time and I jump in my car. The radio was left on my all-news station... and it is blaring Beyonce. At first I thought maybe the channel changed on me, but NO. My news channel is now all Beyonce... all the time!!! Dang it.

I need to get satellite radio.

Charmy's Army in "Long Overdue" Strip 4

What a crazy weekend! I had to put in some monster hours to get this week's strips done, but I did it. I so wish I could do this for a living. If I could do this full time, I know that I could churn these things out like butter AND work up some awesome graphic novels. That is the dream.

I never understood  why cartoonists don't work up secondary tales of their comic strips. If I get syndicated, i want to release a treasury every year AND publish two graphic novels each year. One in late Spring and the other around mid-October. I am even willing to farm out the artwork to another cartoonist on these novels so I can concentrate on my strip.

That is my plan and my dream. Unfortunately, I am never getting syndicated, and I will always have my day job. Still, it is fun to dream.

Enjoy today's strip!

Charmy's Army in "Long Overdue" Strip 3

I am taking tomorrow off from work. Something I have not had much of a chance to do in over two years. I am going to turn off the cell phone and play all day. I am even going to lock up my pens and my light table. Nothing but fun. Something Charmy is having trouble doing this week.

Charmy didn't look forward to returning to his old high school, Antennae High, for this episode. Contrary to what you may think, Charmy was a great student when he was in the classroom. After school hours though, Charmy was a mischievous prankster, pulling stunts that kept him in serious trouble with the school's principal. Charmy was not supposed to even walk the honorary trek to get his diploma. That is a story for another day.

Meanwhile, please enjoy today's episode of Charmy's Army.

Charmy's Army in "Long Overdue" Strip 2

Just finished sending a submission to the Washington Post Writer's Group. It is the third time I have sent my work to this syndicate. As with all the syndicates, I have never heard back on my submissions in the past.

I am hoping I have improved over the past year since my last submission. I would love to hear back from just one of the syndicates one day. Even if they say that I stink, I would be so happy just to hear any feedback. Sometimes I wish someone would just come out and say that I am wasting my time chasing this dream.

I truly believe in my strip and my ability to crank out a weekly strip. I just have to figure out a way to convince a syndicate!

Wish me luck....
